Springhill Suites Opening New Statesboro Georgia Location Springhill Suites will be opening Statesboro's newest, and largest, hotel at the intersection of Highway 67 and the Bypass in September 2008. Adjacent to the new BB&T Bank, It will have 113 rooms and a conference center in an adjoining building which fronts on the 301 Bypass. I recently got a look inside before the opening and it looks great. There will not be a restaurant on the property but a breakfast bar will be available and outside restaurants will have an opportunity to serve at events in the conference center. Statesboro is seeing explosive growth and with that growth, new hotels are popping up and existing brands are changing. In addition to the new Marriott Springhill, Holiday Inn Express opened its new property on the Bypass across from the Statesboro Crossing Shopping Center. The former Holiday Inn site on 301 South has been rebranded as a Ramada. Years ago Marriott operated at the corner of the Bypass and Lanier Drive on the other side of town, that site is now a LaQuinta Inn. 301 South has also seen the rebranding of the Quality Inn site located next to Sonic nad the Jameson Inn located across from the GSU campus. Other brands are also looking into locating in Statesboro and we might have news to share later in 08 or in early 09.
